Tell us more about what you do and how you got there.

I am VP, Executive Production Director at R/GA. I head up production and operations across our key clients within the Group. I’ve been in the digital agency space for approximately 15 years and in the production space (pre-digital) for more than 20 years. I started out in Madrid, Spain where I worked for Canal + Television for six years. I moved to London and worked in the broadcast television space for a couple of years before joining a digital start-up called Nettec. We grew from 3 full time to 150 full time employees -. I was head hunted by an American internet design company new to London to run their Production department and moved to New York a year later with the same company. Since then I have been in NYC since 2000 working in the ‘big agency’ digital creative space … best place to be!

What do you enjoy most about what you do?

I am passionate about my discipline and industry. After all these years I still love to see a digital production through end to end. Although I mostly manage teams now, I still like to run my own pet production projects from start to finish.

What advice would you give to Irish professionals moving to the U.S. for work?

One of the best, most exciting parts of my working life has been the ability to work in four different countries. Never turn down the opportunity to do what you love and get paid for it in another country! You learn so much by working abroad. It broadens your skill set, objectivity, cultural understanding and confidence to run teams and relate to different clients.

Who was the biggest influence on your career?

Way too many to list here!

If you had one piece of advice for yourself earlier in your career, what would it be?

Don’t do a job you don’t love! Try lots of different roles until you find your fit. There will be the ideal one out there for you.

What are your passions outside of work?

My family, friends, reading, sports, travel.
